The Indo-Israel relationship has reached new heights in the last few years and the reciprocal visit of prime ministers of both the countries has been a contributing factor, the country`s envoy informed the Krishi jagran in a glittering function on the occasion of the celebration of 70th Independence Day in New Delhi
Ambassador of Israel to India, Daniel Carmon said this during an event here to mark Israel`s 70th Independence Day.
Union State Minister for Power and Energy R K Singh was the Chief Guest on the occasion and ambassadors of several countries, senior diplomats and other dignitaries also attended the event.
"As a nation and as an individual, Israel has grown and we want to continue to move in that direction, meeting global and local challenges," Carmon said.
"We want to continue to move towards a safe, secure, free and vibrant society living side by side with our neighbours," he said.
Emphasizing on ties of Israel and India, Carmon said the visit of Prime minister Narendra Modi to Israel and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to India have "contributed to elevating of relationship between the two countries".
"In the last few years, ties between the two countries have reached new heights," he said.
Later speaking on the sidelines of the event, Carmon said many other factors have also contributed to it.
"In agriculture, defense, water, education and other sectors, we continue to cooperate. The cooperation in these sectors has given a new meaning to our strategic partnership," he said.
