The North Central Railways (NCR) has invited applications for the positions for Apprentices. The interested candidates can apply for the positions by 1st September 2021. The North Central Railways has announced the engagement of 1664 Act Apprentices with a job location across the country.
For certain trades, even the 8th Class pass can apply. These types of vacancies are specially for the rural areas. The candidates, who are interested to join the Indian Railways Recruitment Cell of the Indian Railway can apply, there are over 1664 vacancies for apprentices in various posts.
The Indian Railways said that the registration window to apply for the apprentice posts opened on 2nd August Monday. Interested candidate can apply on the official website of the railways via: https://www.rrcpryj.org/
As per the updates, the selected candidates will be given a preference in filling up 20% vacancies in case of direct recruitment in Level 1 posts, the pay scale ranges from Rs 18,000 to Rs 56,900.
The Indian Railways in its notification said the selected candidates will be trained at the various divisions, workshops within jurisdiction of North Central Railways.
Training Period: On selection process, the candidates will have to undergo the apprenticeship training for a period of 01 year.

The selection of the eligible applicants for imparting training under the Apprentice Act, 1961 will be based on the merit list, which would be prepared to take average of the percentage of marks obtained by applicants in both Matriculation with minimum 50% & ITI examination giving equal weightage to both.

Further, for trades where minimum educational criteria is 8th pass + ITI, merit list will be prepared by taking average marks scored in 8th & ITI marks.

The Shortlisted candidates, thus enlisted will be called for the document/certificate verification to the extent of 1.5 times of the notified vacancies.

In case of two applicants having same marks, the applicant having older age shall be preferred. In case the date of birth is also same, then the applicants who passed the matriculation exam earlier shall be considered first. There will be no written test/ viva.

The final merit list will be prepared Unit wise, Trade wise & Community wise equal to the number in descending order of the percentage of marks obtained by candidate.
