Visiting Common areas like Parksare very popular on Saturdays and Sundays in Delhi. We see a good crowd assembled in Nehru Park to enjoy the sights. Nehru Park is a destination for one day picnics and especially holidays see the maximum rush. These are immaculately kept by the New Delhi Municipal Council. Even at the time of the Corona Lock down and the ongoing crisis the Park has been wonderfully curated and maintained by the NDMC.There is a riot of colours visible at the park and is dotted with colourful flowers. It’s the primary Duty of NDMC to maintain the roads, parks, avenue roads and provide aesthetics to each specific region so that the memories just remain forever. The park also has several trees like Neem, Champa, Gulmohar, and Ashoka.

The New Delhi Municipal Council has a separate Horticulture team lead by Mr. D. Chellaih. He has around 1500 staff under him who keeps working throughout to maintain and upkeep the planting of the annuals, perennials, and seasonals. NDMC Horticulture Director himself takes the responsibility of the planting pattern, color schemes and designs. But at present even with limited staff the NDMC is wonderfully maintaining the parks and avenues and gardens and round abouts of New Delhi region. We at present are waiting patiently for the lock down to be relieved so that we get to see the riot of colours again.
