The Nepal Army declared on Monday that no survivors of the plane crash that took place on Sunday had been found in Pokhara, a renowned tourist destination.
According to Krishna Prasad Bhandari, spokesperson of the Nepal Army, the rescue units have not recovered any survivors from the accident site.
While making a landing at the recently opened airfield in Pokhara, Nepal, a Yeti Airlines passenger plane crashed into a river gorge. On board, 72 individuals, including five Indians, have now been declared to be dead.
Following Sunday's plane disaster, Nepal's Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal convened a high-level meeting of the Council of Ministers.
While traveling from Pokhara to the Nepali city of Kathmandu, an ATR 72 twin-engine turboprop airliner crashed. The investigation into the crash's causes has been given to a special commission by the Nepalese government. A final report is expected to arrive in 45 days.
The bereaved relatives of victims of the Nepal plane disaster received condolences from Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday.
Taking to his official Twitter handle, the latter wrote, "Pained by the tragic air crash in Nepal in which precious lives have been lost, including Indian nationals. In this hour of grief, my thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families."

Likewise, S Jaishankar, the minister of external affairs, expressed his sorrow over the incident and sent his sympathies to the victims.

Nepal's Civil Aviation Authority stated in a statement earlier on Sunday that the flight carried 68 people, including five Indians, four Russians, and one Irish citizen.
