Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is set to hold consultations with farmers on the implementation of the fourth agriculture road map in the state. The event, organized by the agriculture department, is expected to be attended by more than 4,700 farmers, and Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Prasad Yadav and Agriculture Minister Kumar Sarwjeet are also scheduled to be present.
The state government appears to be taking the concerns of farmers seriously, as their votes could potentially have a significant impact on the outcome of the 2024 Lok Sabha election. As such, every opportunity to address their issues is being taken seriously by the Bihar government.
During the event, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will seek the views of farmers on the previous three agriculture road maps, which were connected to 12 different departments including agriculture, animal husbandry and fisheries, cooperative, industries, sugarcane, water resource, minor water resource, food corporation, land reforms and revenue, rural development, energy, environment, forest, and climate change. To ensure that the voices of farmers are heard, two farmers from each district will be given the opportunity to express their concerns and provide feedback on the previous road maps. Additionally, a suggestion box will be available at the venue for farmers to drop their views and suggestions.
The importance of agriculture in Bihar cannot be overstated. With approximately 80% of the population engaged in agricultural activities, the sector is a crucial part of the state's economy. As such, it is important that the government take steps to address the concerns of farmers and ensure that they have the support they need to succeed.
The consultations being held by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar with farmers on the fourth agriculture roadmap demonstrate the state government's commitment to supporting the agricultural sector and the farmers who depend on it. It is hoped that the event will lead to constructive discussions and productive outcomes that benefit farmers and the state as a whole.
