According to an official from Delhi University (DU), the NTA is considering conducting a standalone entrance examination for Ph.D applicants who want admission to the university says media reports. If implemented, this would be a departure from the traditional practice of conducting written tests and interviews for PhD admissions.
During a meeting of the Executive Council, Delhi University (DU) announced its decision to utilize the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-PhD) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for PhD admissions in the 2023-24 academic year. This resolution was part of several other resolutions that were approved during the meeting. In an official statement, the university explained that the selection for PhD admissions will be based on the CUET (PhD)-2023 examination, following the recommendations of the Standing Committee of the Academic Council.
These decisions, including matters concerning admission and attendance for Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and PhD programs for the academic session 2023-24, were subsequently accepted by the Executive Council.
