According to reports, the camp provided free distribution of veterinary drugs and veterinarian guidance to ensure the livestock's health. Colonel Krishan Atri, Commanding Officer of Advance Field Veterinary Hospital, was the Chief Guest on this occasion and spoke with livestock owners about their livestock difficulties.
"The people of Dabrah village rely primarily on livestock rearing for a living. Nevertheless, the area lacks basic veterinary services. In light of the hardships endured by the locals and in order to assist community members, Advance field Veterinary Hospital Headquarters 71 Sub Area Udhampur launched a veterinary camp under Operation Sadbhavana," officials stated.
Colonel Krishan Atri informed cattle owners about numerous livestock diseases and precautions. According to officials, about 6,200 animals from 240 beneficiary farmers were treated.
The Indian Army veterinary team treated the village's goats, calves, and sheep. Medicines for various illness problems, nutraceuticals, and feed additives were supplied to farmers in addition to onsite-specific treatment with the support of a diagnostic lab set up by the hospital. The camp did a number of minor surgical treatments, vaccines, pregnancy diagnostics, infertility problems, farriery, and dental procedures.
The officials also stated that the civil veterinary administration, which reports to the Chief Animal Husbandry Officer in Udhampur, provided the camp with the necessary support. Several state ministries interested in rural development, such as Horticulture, Agriculture, and sheep husbandry, set up stalls at the campground.
"The response from livestock producers was phenomenal, and the interactive livestock management session was judged to be highly educational for the farmers. Villagers praised the camp's management and asked the Army to give such assistance on a regular basis. The camp met its goal of providing sick animals with care at their homes as well as competent advise on many elements of animal health management," as per an officials.
