PMBI Launches Jan Aushadhi Chyawanprash Special; Available at All Jan Aushadhi Kendras

A new product Jan Aushadhi Special Chyawanprash launched in New Delhi on January 5 under Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP). Ravi Dadhich, Chief Executive Officer of the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Bureau of India (PMBI), launched this new product.

This Chwanprash Special will now be available at reasonable prices at all Jan Aushadhi Kendras across the country. Chyawanprash Special is a potent antioxidant paste made from a synergistic blend of approximately 50 herbs and spices.

The Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) was launched in 2008 by the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India, to make quality generic medicines affordable to all.

 

The Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) has been successfully implemented across India by the Pharmaceuticals & Medical Devices Bureau of India (PMBI).

Currently, over 9000 Janaushadhi Kendras have been established across the country. The scheme's successful implementation has already achieved 869.12 Crore in sales in the current fiscal year, and it aims to reach the target of 1200 Crore in this fiscal year.

At the present time, these 9000 Kendras ensure the availability of over 1759 medicines and 280 surgical devices, including Suvidha Sanitary pads, which cost Rs. 1/- per pad.

 

The prices of Jan Aushadhi medicines are generally 50%-90% less than branded medicines available on the open market. This noble scheme has enabled citizens to save a total of approximately Rs. 18000 crores over the last eight years.
