Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N Chandrababu Naidu today announced Rs. 5 lakh to the families of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans.
Around 44 soldiers were killed on 14th February when their convoy was attacked by a suicide bomber in Pulwama district on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway.
While addressing the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) meeting Shri Naidu said, "The terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district is very painful. It is very sad that 44 CRPF soldiers lost their lives in the most shameful attack”. He said that the government of Andhra Pradesh will support all the works of the central government in suppressing terrorism in the country.
The minister said that the central and state governments should adopt and put into practice strong strategies to stop such heinous terror activities.
He added, “Soldiers in India are shouldering the responsibility of protecting the nation, they are safeguarding our families. The bravehearts are even sacrificing their lives for our sake and they are truly an inspiration to all of us. So many soldiers losing their lives is a shock to the country".
Naidu reiterated that everyone should stand by the families of the soldiers at this "critical moment adding that it is our prime responsibility to extend moral support to them”.
On the other hand, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Edappadi K Palaniswami announced government jobs to 1 family member each of the 2 CRPF jawans from the state who lost their lives in the attack. The move comes a day after the state government of Tamil Nadu announced a compensation of Rs. 20 lakh each to the families of the jawans.
Rajasthan yesterday announced ex-gratia of Rs. 25 lakh along with a job to the families of CRPF soldiers.
