Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 4th Global Renewable Energy Investor’s Meet and Expo (RE-INVEST) at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar, Gujarat. This three-day summit honors India's achievement of installing over 200 GW of non-fossil fuel energy. Modi also toured an exhibition showcasing innovations in renewable energy from public and private sectors, start-ups, and major industry players.

PM Modi expressed confidence in the summit's potential to shape the future of energy and technology. “The discussions and learnings from this summit will benefit all of humanity,” he said, highlighting the importance of collective global action on energy. He highlighted the mandate given by the Indian people, re-electing the same government for a record third time after 60 years. He attributed the victory to the aspirations of the nation. “The youth, women, and marginalized sections of society trust that this government will turn their dreams into reality,” he said, reflecting on the confidence placed in his administration. He also highlighted the resolve of 140 crore Indians working together to make India the third-largest economy in the world.

The Prime Minister pointed out that the RE-INVEST summit aligns with India’s broader goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047. “Today’s event is not an isolated one but part of a bigger vision and action plan to drive India's growth,” Modi stated. He highlighted the achievements in the first 100 days of the government’s third term, including the construction of over 7 crore houses and initiatives like the approval of industrial cities, high-speed corridors, and the launch of more than 15 Vande Bharat trains.

Discussing India’s advancements in renewable energy, PM Modi highlighted several key initiatives. Among them is the viability gap funding scheme for offshore wind energy projects worth Rs 7,000 crore. He revealed plans for producing 31,000 megawatts of hydropower with an outlay of Rs 12,000 crore. “India’s diversity, scale, and capacity make it uniquely positioned to offer solutions for global energy needs,” Modi said.

Prime Minister underscored India’s leadership in meeting global climate commitments, highlighting that India was the first G20 nation to achieve its Paris Agreement targets—nine years ahead of schedule. India aims to achieve 500 GW of renewable energy by 2030, a goal Modi termed as a "people's movement." He also discussed the PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme, which funds rooftop solar installations, making every household a power producer. “More than 1.3 crore families have registered under the scheme, with installations completed in over 3.25 lakh houses,” he informed.

PM Modi stressed that the solar revolution is not just about energy but also employment generation. “The PM Surya Ghar scheme is creating around 20 lakh jobs, with plans to prepare 3 lakh youth as skilled manpower,” he said, adding that 1 lakh will be trained as Solar PV Technicians. He highlighted the environmental benefits, noting that generating 3 kilowatts of solar electricity prevents the emission of 50-60 tonnes of carbon dioxide annually.

“India’s solar revolution will be scripted in golden letters when the history of the 21st century is written,” Modi declared. He pointed to India’s first solar village, Modhera, as a shining example, adding that similar efforts are underway across the country. Modi also revealed plans to turn Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Ram, into a model solar city.

India is striving to become a global leader in green hydrogen, with the launch of a Green Hydrogen Mission worth Rs 20,000 crore. Waste-to-energy projects and support for start-ups developing circular economy technologies are also key initiatives. “The government is committed to promoting Pro-Planet people through initiatives like Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment),” Modi stated.

Concluding his address, PM Modi invited global investors to participate in India’s green transition. “India is truly a guarantee of expansion and better returns,” he assured, highlighting opportunities not just in energy generation but also in manufacturing.

Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Prahlad Joshi, and the Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Goa were present at the event.
