Dr Arif Pandit attended 5th Annual meeting of International Cytokine and Interferon Society held in Kanazawa, Japan. Arif presented a research article entitled “Pulmonary upregulation of HMGB1 signaling following fipronil and endotoxin interaction” authored by Arif Pandit, R K Gandham, Ramneek Verma and R S Sethi. Arif is presently pursuing his PhD programme under supervision of Dr R S Sethi, in the School of Animal Biotechnology, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana.
Dr Ramneek, Director of the School of Animal Biotechnology informed that Arif was granted Kishimoto travel award by the International Cytokine and Interferon Society (ICIS), Japan. The award included a cash prize of 100,000 JPY for international travelling, boarding and lodging. Dr R S Sethi, who is the member of ICIS, Japan said that conference was one of the largest scientific get together and was attended by more than eight hundred eminent scientists across the globe.
He told that ICIS deals with research on cytokine and interferon and the main theme of this year's meeting was looking beyond the horizon of integrated cytokine, interferon and chemokine research.Dr Simrat Sagar Singh, Dean, Post Graduate Studies, GADVASU congratulated Dr Arif for bringing laurel to the institute and inculcate sense of motivation to other students of the university.
