India Rural villages even after 72 years of Independence still struggles with basic necessities and gender inequality, low income from farming and high dropout rate in education. More than anything they need is education. A better education system for supporting the younger generation in these villages. A good Education System could break the barriers and give hope to secure the future of the girls. Otherwise Nearly 48% girls in rural India get married before the age of 18, Roughly 50% of all working children are girls, 56% adolescent girls (15-19 years) in India are anemic and 2.6 Million Girls aged 15-19 suffered some form of sexual violence.
Keeping all these in mind, Ashita and Anish wanted to set up a dream school of their own. Those thoughts culminated in THE GOOD HARVEST SCHOOL, AN AGRI-BASED PRIMARY SCHOOL FOR GIRLS in the year 2016.
A girls’ school in a village they thought would focus on giving exceptional educational opportunities for the less fortunate. Their aim is to transform the current education system in villages. At The Good Harvest School, an all-girls' environment provides a wonderful opportunity for girls to explore who they are as young women without social pressure. They seek to establish strong bonds of connections between the girls, to open up and share their feelings and empathize with one another. They offer a comfortable learning atmosphere with strong female role models as their positive mentors, equipping their students to adapt to the ever changing demands of the world.
The school gives free green education to young rural girls and introduces them to agriculture. The school being nestled amidst farm fields provides ample of opportunities to learn from the natural surroundings and breaks the monotony of being restricted within four walls of the classroom. Basic education, agriculture lessons and co-curricular activities from an integral part of the curriculum.
