A Western Disturbance and cyclonic circulation is located over Pakistan and adjoining areas on Thursday morning said the weather channel in its morning bulletin. Moreover, the disturbance is likely to produce fairly widespread to widespread snow or rain and thunderstorms with hail over the Western Himalayan Region on Thursday and Friday and scattered to widespread rain and thunderstorms with hail over the plain areas of northern and north-central India on Thursday and Friday. The weather department has predicted heavy snow or rain and thunderstorms with hail over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, and Himachal Pradesh. On the other hand, heavy rain and thunderstorms with hail are possible over Punjab and Haryana on Thursday.
Heavy rain & thunderstorm Likely in Odisha
As per reports, westerly winds from the Western Disturbance and southeasterly winds from the Bay of Bengal are likely to converge over central India on Thursday and Friday. The convergence will cause scattered to widespread rain and thunderstorms with hail over central and eastern India from Thursday to Saturday. Heavy rain and thunderstorms with hail will be in the forecast for Odisha.
The western disturbance will move eastward. The convergence of westerly winds from the western disturbance and southerly winds from Bay of Bengal will affect northeastern-central and eastern India on Saturday and Sunday, and north-eastern India on Sunday and Monday.
Dry weather is likely over western India in this period. Dry weather is also expected over southern India from Friday.
As per reports, maximum temperatures are -2 to -4C or less low than average over northern, north-central and eastern India in this period. Minimum temperatures will be near average or slightly cooler than average in northern India in this period.
Dry weather is expected over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, coastal Karnataka, and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
