With the beginning of winter, the climate is vehemently changing with a drastic drop in temperature in many states all across India. Moreover, in some of the parts of the Northern region, the temperature has dropped to a single-digit while Kashmir and Himachal were lashed with heavy snowfall.
“A fresh Western Disturbance as a cyclonic circulation extending up to mid-tropospheric levels lies over eastern parts of Iran and adjoining Afghanistan. It is likely to affect the north Indian region from the night of 10th December 2019”, said the weather department on its latest weather forecast. The weather department predicts light rain/snow from 10th December night onwards over Western Himalayan Region with maximum intensity on 12th & 13th December while widespread rain/snow with isolated heavy falls likely over Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand in this period. On the other hand, the Southern states like Kerala, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu are likely to lashes with the cyclonic storm as per the weather forecast and the administration alerted the fisherman to stay away from the seashore.

The National Capital along with Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, West Uttar Pradesh, north Rajasthan, and north Madhya Pradesh is likely to get light to moderate rainfall on 12th & 13th December while East Uttar Pradesh & Bihar is likely to lash with heavy rainfall on 13th & 14th December.
As per yesterday’s report, many places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal lashed with heavy rainfall. Dense fog observed in isolated pockets over Jammu & Kashmir and Moderate fog in isolated pockets over Uttar Pradesh, West Madhya Pradesh, East Bihar, and Arunachal Pradesh while moderate fog observed in isolated pockets over Uttar Pradesh, West Madhya Pradesh, East Bihar, and Arunachal Pradesh.
Maximum temperatures were recorded above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at most places over Jharkhand; at many places over Himachal Pradesh, Odisha and Kerala & Mahe, Konkan & Goa, Gangetic West Bengal, Assam & Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura while minimum temperatures were reported appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at many places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura, Jharkhand, and Gangetic West Bengal.
