The words which got viral on Facebook, written by Don Anderson, a resident of Crosby, North Dakota, United States are actually worth reading.

You reap, what you sow…!!

That’s the old saying that can apply to a lot of things in life.

Well, today it has two fold meaning, Harvesting Crops and Helping Friends…!!

But what is the reason behind these words….?

Reason behind these words is a brief story of Lane Unhjem, North Dakota farmer. He suffered a cardiac arrest when he was in the middle of harvesting process. Then his neighbours decided to do something, which is not seen very often. Nearby area farmers joined each other and planned for a noble cause, they put their own harvesting on hold to cut 1000 acres for their neighbour, who faced a heart attack after his combine caught fire last week.

According to a report on the website kfyrtv.com, family friend of Lane Unhjem, Jenna Binde said, “I talked to a couple of farmers, got their equipment, and then other people just started calling and we had equipment offered from all over the place in the county, and their workers to go with it.”

Binde also mentioned that, “Everybody knowns Unhjems, and they are good people and good in the community, and just kind of the farming way of life too. You help your neighbour out when they need it, and don’t expect anything in return.”

In this way, Don Anderson narrated the whole scenario.  In his facebook post, he also mentioned that, “approximately 40 to 50 farmers, driving combines, pulling grain carts, driving semis and various other harvest related items, converged on the Unhjem farmstead and they will take care of harvest for lane and his family today. I believe there was about a dozen combines involved.” And these neighbours took 7 hours to harvest 1000 acre of crops.

These kinds of friends and neighbours who give a helping hand in the time of need are inspiration for others….
