    Monsoon 2020 News: The weather department has warned of extremely heavy rainfall in many places across India. In the 2nd phase of monsoon, many states are seeing continuous rainfall leading to floods & landslides. The situation is particularly critical in Karnataka, Kerala and Maharashtra in the last few days.

    India Meteorological Division said, "Heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places is likely over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, North Punjab, East Madhya Pradesh, Coastal & South interior Karnataka & Kerala."

    Janmashtami popularly known as Gokulashatami is an annual Hindu festival that celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna, who is believed to be the 8th avatar of Lord Vishnu. Janmashtami is generally observed on Ashtami or eighth day of the Krishna Paksha in the month of Sharavan (Bhadrapad). This year, the festival celebrations will start on August 11. However, many people will celebrate it on the next day also.

    • Janmashtami tithi- Ashtami tithi will start on 09:06 am on 11th August and end at 11:16 am on 12 August
    • Nishita puja time –12:21 am to 01:06 am on 12 August
    • Dahi handi – 12 August

     

     

     

  • Covid-19 Latest Updates: Former President Pranab Mukherjee tests Positive for Coronavirus

    Former President of India, Pranab Mukherjee has tweeted that he has tested positive for Covid-19 and requested people who have come in contact with him to self-isolate. Mukherjee said he came to know about his positive status when he went for a routine check-up.

    He tweeted, “On a visit to the hospital for a separate procedure, I have tested positive for Coronavirus today. I request the people who came in contact with me in the last week, to please self-isolate & get tested for COVID-19”.
