    The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) hosted the Rome Water Dialogue 2023 which focused on raising awareness on the interlinkages, synergies, and holistic solutions that relate water to soil, land, climate change, biodiversity, fisheries, agriculture, forestry, food security and nutrition. It is seen that water is not only crucial for food production but is also essential for food processing, preparations, and transportation. The UN has identified that safe drinking water is required in order to end malnutrition and hunger along with the idea of achieving food security.

    Hardeep Singh Puri, the Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Housing and Urban Affairs, recently highlighted India's rapid progress in the green and clean energy sector. He noted that the country achieved its 10 percent target for biofuel blending five months ahead of the November 2022 deadline and has advanced the 20 percent biofuel blending target from 2030 to 2025. Addressing the challenges of energy sector management, Puri emphasized that India is accelerating its sustainability efforts rather than slowing down. The 20 percent blending limit for biofuels was initially imposed because automobile companies believed that up to this level, minimal changes were needed in engines.

    The Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India, unveiled the 'A-HELP' (Accredited Agent for Health and Extension of Livestock Production) program in the state of Jharkhand, heralding a new era for women's participation in the livestock sector. Badal Patralekh, Minister of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry & Co-operative, Government of Jharkhand, who emphasized the pivotal role of women in the state's livestock sector. The 'A-HELP' program is designed to empower women by engaging them as Accredited Agents responsible for disease control, animal tagging, and livestock insurance. It is aimed at enhancing access to veterinary services, especially at the farmers' doorstep, and promoting the role of 'Pashu Sakhis.'

    Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Parshottam Rupala, emphasized the imperative need to transform agricultural and food systems into sustainable enterprises through scientific innovations. His remarks came during the inauguration of the 16th Agricultural Science Congress (ASC) in Kochi. Minister Rupala underlined the escalating demand for food, mounting environmental degradation, and the challenges posed by climate change. These factors collectively necessitate a shift towards sustainability and innovation in the agriculture sector. Rupala urged agricultural scientists to focus on mechanization and the development of specialized farm implements to empower women in agriculture.
