SBI Extends Free Insurance to Jan Dhan Account Holders
The State Bank of India implemented a free insurance scheme for customers of SBI, who have Jan Dhan Accounts. Under this scheme, The Jan Dhan Account holders in SBI could enjoy benefits of free insurance upto Rs 2 lakh. The benefits of this scheme accorded to Rupay debit cardholders, who have Jan Dhan accounts.

Chief Economic Advisor: New Farm Laws to Help Farmers Get Better Returns
On 12th July Monday, Chief Economic Advisor K Subramanian said New Farm laws will ultimately help the farmers to get better returns as legislations provide for the competition by allowing them to sell produce to corporates like ITC & Reliance for good prices, the farm laws were cleared by the Parliament last year in 2020, but Supreme Court suspended their implementation amid protest by the farmers in January 2021.

Scientists of IIT Mandi Find Way to Detect Disease in Potato Crops
Scientist from the Indian Institute of Technology Mandi, developed a computational model for the automated disease detection in potato crops using the photographs of its leaves. The research led by Dr. Srikant, the Associate Professor, School of Computing & Electric Engineering, Mandi in collaboration with Central Potato Research Institute, Shimla uses the Artificial Intelligence techniques to highlight diseased portions of leaf.

11 thousand 141 crore rupees paid as MSP to Farmers
The government said over 11 thousand 141 crore rupees has been paid to farmers as a Minimum Support Price and MSP for procurement of wheat in current Rabi Marketing Season 2021 to 2022 in UP. The Ministry of Consumer affairs, Food & Public Distribution said during season a record of 56.41 lakh metric tonnes of wheat was procured from the farmers at MSP in UP as compared to 36.77 lakh metric tonnes wheat procured from 6.64 lakh of farmers in the year 2020 to 2021.
