At present, there are around 12 crores beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, one of the most successful schemes of PM Modi Government. The scheme was launched in 2018 with an aim to provide financial assistance to the farming community.
Under PM Kisan, the central government directly transfers Rs 6000 to the accounts of farmers in three installments every year. Till now, the Modi government has released 8 installments to the farmers. Now it is preparing to disburse the 9th installment to the beneficiaries.

Important changes made in PM Kisan Yojana
Below we have mentioned the important changes made in PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana;
No landholding limit
At the beginning of the scheme, only those farmers were eligible for the scheme who had 2 hectares or 5 acres of land. But in order to extend the benefit of the scheme to 14.5 crore farmers in India, Modi government removed land holding limit.
Aadhaar card mandatory
If you are thinking of taking advantage of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme, then you must have a valid Aadhaar number. Without Aadhaar, you cannot register for this scheme. The government has made Aadhaar mandatory for the beneficiaries.
Self registration facility
Farmers can register themselves through self registration option available on the official website. If you have Aadhaar Card, Mobile Number, Bank Account Number & land details then you can easily register yourself by going to the Farmer's Corner at pmkisan.nic.in.
Facility to check Status
The government added a new feature i.e. to check beneficiary status at PM Kisan portal. Here you can check the current status of your application, how much installment you have received so far etc.
PM Kisan Beneficiaries get extra benefits of Kisan Credit Card and PM Maandhan Yojana
Now Kisan Credit Card (KCC) has also been linked with PM Kisan Scheme. It has become easy for the beneficiaries of PM Kisan to apply for KCC. Also farmers get loan up to Rs 3 lakh through KCC at 4 per cent.
At the same time, the farmer taking benefit of PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi will not have to provide any document while applying for PM Kisan Maandhan Yojana. Under this scheme, farmers can choose to contribute directly from the benefits received from the PM-Kisan scheme.
