Amul wins trademark case in Canada

Marking a first for India's dairy giant Amul, the Canadian Federal Court, ruled in its favour that a brand named 'Amul Canada' had infringed on Amul's copyright by advertising their product, using their brand image and name, as well as corporate information via popular jobs site LinkedIn. The court ordered 'Amul Canada' to transfer to Amul ownership and all rights access, administration, and control for and over the LinkedIn pages/accounts together with any other LinkedIn pages/accounts, domain names and social media pages registered to or controlled by it displaying Amul's trademark within 30 days of the order.

Dhanuka launches herbicide TORNADO

Agrochemical major Dhanuka Agritech Limited is launching a novel herbicide for Indian farmers, TORNADO, a comprehensive solution for weeds in oilseeds crops. SLCM Wins Madhya Pradesh Contract for Management of Agri Commodities

The New Delhi-headquartered agri technology and warehousing solutions conglomerate, Sohan Lal Commodity Management (SLCM), has received a record contract as a service provider for the Preservation, Management and Security of food grain stock from the State Government of Madhya Pradesh. Vet Varsity launches Digital Repository for intellectual research

Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana launched the Digital Repository of the University, developed for codifying the records of scientific outcome of the University. The repository developed by Dr. H.S. Banga, Registrar and Dr. J.P.S. Gill, Director of Research with technical assistance from Information Technology and Library professionals.

India reducing tur imports, Myanmar farmers switch to other crops

With India restricting its imports of tur from Myanmar, farmers in the neighbouring countries are fast replacing tur with other crops such as sesame, maize and cotton, for which there is a ready market in China and other countries close by, according to experts. Vatsal Lilani, Managing Director of Evertop Commodities Pvt Ltd said, “From a total of 3,00,000 tonnes in 2015, tur production in Myanmar has fallen to 80,000 tonnes this year.
