    Punjab Agricultural University has developed new varieties of crops which have raised not only the agricultural output in the State but have provided the consumers with a nutrient rich palate. Most of these innovations have been backed by government support in terms of funding for research. These new varieties are able to tolerate weather fluctuations among their other properties.

  • Rains expected over North and North-Eastern regions

    Satellite data is predicting some rainfall over Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Western Uttar Pradesh, Northern Rajasthan, Bihar, Jharkhand, South-western coast and North-Eastern states. 

  • Delhi government orders reservation of beds for Corona patients

    Delhi government has ordered reservation of beds in the major Hospitals for Corona patients as a way to tackle the sudden rise in cases. However, this may lead to problems for other patients in critical states.

  • Oxygen availability in the country reviewed

    Availability of Oxygen fit for medical use was reviewed by the Prime Minister, himself as Corona cases rise in the country. Oxygen is particularly required by the highly infected states where majority of the cases are. Central government is making every effort to ensure the availability of Oxygen to these states.

  • Central governments issues orders to give priority to Corona patients

    In response to the rising tide of Corona cases, the central government has ordered all of the government run hospitals across India to give priority to Corona cases. If possible, the hospitals should allocate separate entry and exits for Corona and other patients. Corona and other cases could be in separate blocks, such as different buildings.

  • TexFad extracts fiber from banana trunk

    TexFad, a Ugandan company is extracting fiber from banana trunk, which is environment friendly. This fiber is used to produce carpets and hair extensions. They are researching a way of producing softer fiber so as to make clothes.

  • John Kerry's plan for USA to go green

    John Kerry with Gina McCarthy will decide the pledge that USA will make on reducing pollution in the country. Donald Trump had cut USA away from world's pollution concerns. Now the present USA administration wants to join the world community in reducing pollution.

    The British authorities are suspecting that a new variant of COVID has hit UK, and they are claiming that this is an Indian variant. About 70 cases of this COVID variant have been detected in UK. According to research these COVID viruses have mutated to different varieties in different countries.
