  • Krishi Jagran Wins 'Agri India Startup Assembly & Awards 2022' at Globoil & Sugar Summit in Goa; Named 'Best Agricultural News Platform 2022' at APAC Business Awards

  • WayCool to Expand Its Agri-Input Portfolio; Inks MoU with Yara India

    As part of this move, WayCool has entered a strategic partnership with Yara India, the world’s largest nitrogen fertilizer producer. The partnership aims to offer superior crop nutrition while facilitating chemical and environmental solutions that have minimal impact on soil health and drip irrigation systems, to enhance overall crop productivity. As part of the MoU, WayCool will list and promote Yara’s products amongst Outgrow Network Partners and share a Package of Practices for 20 crops.

  • Nepal: Indian Embassy Holds Event on IYM-2023 to Focus on Potential of Millets

    The Indian embassy in Kathmandu said in a statement that the event was also attended by the Indian Council for Agricultural Research (ICAR). Govind Prasad Sharma, Secretary (Agriculture Development), Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, Government of Nepal, led the Nepali delegation to the event. The resolution to commemorate the International Year of Millets 2023 (IYM 2023) was adopted by the United Nations in 2021 at India's initiative, with the support of 72 other countries. "India is the world's largest producer of millets, producing 17 million tonnes annually of nine different varieties of millets, about 20 percent of the global production. 

  • Agro Food Processing Conclave 2022: U’khand to Implement Logistics Policy to Encourage Industrial Development

    Dhami stated that the logistics policy should be initiated in the state while discussing the possibilities of investment in the state with industrialists from the country and abroad related to agriculture, horticulture, and food processing at the Agro Food Processing Conclave 2022 at the Chief Minister's residence. He further stated that the government is increasing investment in the state and providing better facilities to already established industries. "The land of Uttarakhand is the centre of culture & spirituality," said the Chief Minister. Uttarakhand has both natural beauty and more human resources than other states. Efforts are being made to provide all types of facilities to the state's industrial institutions. The state's air, rail, and road connectivity is rapidly expanding.

  • J-K Govt Forms Panel to Draft Export Promotion Policy for Agri Commodities

    The Jammu and Kashmir administration formed an expert committee on 15th December to develop a comprehensive export promotion policy to identify agricultural commodities that can be exported from the Union Territory. According to a senior officer, the policy's main goal is to increase annual agricultural exports from Rs 190 crore to Rs 3,000 crore over the next five years. "The committee's primary assignment would be to develop commodity-specific export promotion recommendations that would include strategic and operational aspects of the export and to provide all necessary technical inputs to the agriculture production department within one month for finalization and implementation on the ground," he said.

  • “India’s Forest and Tree Cover on the Rise”: Bhupender Yadav at COP15 Convention

    Delivering India’s National Statement, Union Minister Bhupender Yadav conveyed that “Biodiversity must be promoted through positive investment.” at COP 15 in Montreal. He mentioned that India is taking progressive actions towards tackling the global challenges with strength and optimism. India accounts for 17% of the world population with only 2.4% land and 4% water respectively. Progressive measures are visible as the forest and the tree cover rises in the country along with wildlife population for instance bringing back iconic Cheetahs to the Indian habitat; forest survey numbers showed a total of 75 cheetahs in Ramsar sites.
