  • UP government taking welfare measures to support Sugarcane farmers

    Yogi Adityanath’s government is taking a series of welfare measures in Uttar Pradesh to support the sugarcane farmers. The UP Sugar Industry Minister Suresh Raina said that the sugarcane is going up by 30% in the last 4 years. The farmers have received 18,000 crores in 2016-17 and in the year 2019-20, they received 35,800 crores. Suresh Raina claimed that the UP government ensured the farmers to receive 1,37,518 crores in the cane payment in last 4 years and there are no arrears due to the farmers.

    Various Ministers in the Tamil Nadu government visited Madurai's Meenakshi Amman Temple to review the health condition of 24-year-old elephant Parvati, who is currently suffering from an eye ailment. It was found out that the elephant had a cataract in the left eye due to the dehydration.

  • Mid-sea oil spill on the passage from Colombo to Haldia

    The Indian Coast Guard received information from the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre Colombo, about the mid-sea spill of oil in about 450kms South East of Chennai. During the investigation, it was revealed that the Portuguese flag Container ship MV Devon on passage from Colombo to Haldia, west Bengal created a crack in the underwater fuel tank, which was containing 120KL of very low sulphur fuel oil.

    The Union Agriculture Minister, Narendra Tomar said that the government is ready to talk to the farmers, even at midnight or anytime, to address their grievances on the farm laws, he also said that the focus should only on the laws and not on repealing them.

  • Heavy rainfall likely in many States of India

    In Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, heavy rainfall occurred and halted traffic movement on many highways.
    Even the roads of Gujarat are waterlogged because of the heavy rainfall.
    The India Meteorological Department issued red alert because of the heavy rainfall in Dakshin Kannada.

During pre-covid the farmers were getting Rs 35/litre and after the strict curbs imposed during covid, the farmers are getting Rs 20/litre and this amount only covers the production cost.

  • Farmers burn the effigy of Agriculture Minister

    Farmers from different organization held a protest in the town and they have burned the effigy of the Union Agriculture Minister, for not increasing the Minimum Support Price for Paddy and other Crops. As the leaders of farmer organization said an addition of Rs 72 to the MSP for paddy is so meagre and was unable to match the input price on the produce OC.
