The government has awarded GI tag to Mithila Makhana, a move that is expected to help growers get the maximum price for their premium produce. Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said in a tweet. “Mithila Makhana registered with GI Tag, farmers will get profit and it will be easier to earn. Due to Geographical Indication Tag to Mithila Makhana in the festive season, people outside Bihar will be able to use this auspicious material with reverence. -

MustGrow Biologics and Sumitomo Corporation Announce Extension Of Exclusive Agreement & Program Advancement
Sumitomo Corporation and MustGrow Biologics Corp. have signed an extension to their Exclusive Evaluation and Option Agreement to continue developing MustGrow’s mustard-based technology across the Americas. MustGrow has granted Sumitomo Corporation the exclusive right to continue developing MustGrow’s mustard-based technologies for preplant soil fumigation, bioherbicide, and postharvest and food preservation for potatoes and bananas in North, Central, and South America for an additional option period

Flipkart And ICAR-IIMR Come Together To Enable Market Access To FPOs And SHGs
Flipkart has signed an agreement with the Indian Institute of Millets Research to give Farmer Producer Organizations and Self-Help Groups access to markets. Flipkart will work with these communities through virtual and on-ground training and capacity-building initiatives to provide them with an understanding of the quality, pricing, and licenses required to be a part of the FPO ecosystem.

DeHaat Signs MoU With Several FPOs
DeHaat had an MoU signing ceremony with several FPOs at its Head Office in Patna yesterday. These FPOs operate in the districts of Bihar and are promoted by Mahila Abhivruddhi Society, Andhra Pradesh (APMAS). The MoU was signed by Dr. Dinesh Chauhan, Vice President, New Initiatives, DeHaat, and the Directors of the respective FPOs. This initiative will help in generating impetus for other young entrepreneurs in stepping forward and setting up new FPOs, which can gradually revolutionize the agricultural sector in India.
