In reaction to a rise in fraud cases, the Employees' Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has updated its social media notice for its members. Through its Twitter account, the EPFO has warned its members not to give out any personal information to anyone over the phone or on social media.

When scammers seek personal information in exchange for services from EPFO, such as Aadhaar, PAN, UAN, bank accounts, or OTP, the government urged the people not to fall for scams.

The PF organization was clear that they would never call or use social media, WhatsApp, or other means to ask for personal information."#EPFO never asks its members to provide their details like Aadhaar, PAN, UAN, Bank Account, or OTP over the phone or on social media," the organization claimed in a tweet.

"EPFO never asks for any money to be paid through WhatsApp, Social Media, etc. for any services," the EPFO continued. Additionally, the EPFO has advised its members not to return unsolicited calls or messages that ask for personal information.

The EPFO members need to understand how to safeguard their online papers. They must be informed that some EPFO services are accessible through DigiLocker.

A secure cloud-based platform for the sharing, storage, and verification of documents and certificates is called DigiLocker. On iOS and Android devices, the app can be downloaded.

The EPFO services offered by DigiLocker include:

1) UAN card

2) Pension Payment Order (PPO)

3) Scheme Certificate
