  • PAU Releases New Horticulture Crop Varieties for Farmers

    After more than five years of assessment and study, the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) has certified and recommended two types of dragon fruit fit for production in the state, as part of a significant push toward agricultural diversification. Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) has developed and endorsed 18 new horticulture crop types for widespread cultivation in the province. These include the citrus (sweet orange) varieties Vaniglia Sanguigno, Red Dragon 1, White Dragon 1, Dorsett Golden and Anna, Apple, PKH 11, Cucumber, Punjab Sarda, Muskmelon, Punjab Jamuni, and Punjab.

     

  • IFFCO- MC IRUKA: A One Stop Crop-Friendly Dual Action Insecticide

    Insects pose a serious problem hindering the plant’s growth. Insects devouring leaves and boring holes in stems, fruit, and/or roots cause direct damage to plant while indirect damage can be through bacteria, viruses, or fungi. To minimize or eliminate pest infestations, farmers use insecticides, which are chemicals that eliminate or reduce insect populations. IFFCO and Mitsubishi Corporation formed a joint venture to produce IRUKA, which has a dual site of action.

     

  • INOX Celebrates “International Year of Millets” by Introducing New Millet Dishes in Cinemas

    To celebrate the “International Year of Millets” and to create awareness about the benefits of millets, INOX has introduced new millet dishes at all its cinemas with Insignia and Café Unwind outlets all over the country. The new millet preparations at INOX include Millet Risotto, Finger Millet Pudding and Bajra Mutter ki Tehri. Besides this, INOX will run a campaign to create awareness about the benefits of millets, for the citizens, farmers and the ecosystem at large, and to revive the forgotten glory of the “Miracle Millets”.

     

  • IYoM 2023: UP Govt to Provide 100% Subsidy to Start Millet Processing Units

    The Uttar Pradesh government has announced a 100% subsidy for the development of millet processing units in the state as part of celebrating 2023 as the International Year Of Millets as recognized by the United Nations. During the upcoming G-20 activities in the state, the government would also heavily promote millets grown in the state. Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, is said to have already given the state government officials orders. The government has previously said that anyone who starts millet processing units in UP will receive a 100% subsidy.
