  • PM Kisan Update! Govt. to Release 13th Installment to 8 crore Farmers on Feb 27; Check Your Name in Beneficiary List

    Big news for farmers eagerly waiting for the 13th installment of PM Kisan. The government has officially announced that the financial assistance under PM Kisan Yojana will be released to over 8 crore farmers on Monday, February 27. As per official statement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the funds to 8 crore beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana during an event on February 27 at 3 pm. After disbursing the funds PM Modi will also interact with the farmers and know about their problems.

  • German Delegate Praises PAU’s Wheat Varieties & Irrigation

    Dr. Gurvinder Singh, the Director of Agriculture for Punjab, as well as Dr. Satbir Singh Gosal, the university's vice-chancellor, met with Dr Josef Thoma, the director of expansion for agricultural inputs at BayWa AG in Munich (Germany), at Punjab Agricultural University. Thoma was on a visit to India in order to attend the 5th Progressive Punjab Investors Summit hosted in Mohali's Indian School of Business (ISB). When Thoma visited certain PAU locations, he was enthralled by the soil museum and praised the wheat varieties, particularly the high zinc and resistant starch varieties. He also praised the sensor-based drip irrigation system and sub-surface irrigation of wheat, as well as the super-elite seed production of potatoes that combined tissue culture, aeroponics, and poly screen house cultivation. He said it was enlightening to see such cutting-edge technologies in use at the institution

     

     

  • UP Govt to Host Divisional-Level Fruit, Vegetable & Flower Shows, Says Yogi Adityanath

    The state government will soon organize a fruit, vegetable and flower shows around the state at the divisional level to encourage competition among horticulturists as well as those engaged in animal husbandry and food processing, as per the statement released by the state government on Friday. The statement claimed that the action would accomplish the twin goals of raising farmers' incomes and creating a small-scale enterprise in the area. Even Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered the ministry's people to host such shows and said that it will inspire horticulturists and also offer them an opportunity to acquire new scientific production, maintenance, and marketing strategies. According to the statement, divisional-level fruit, vegetable, and flower shows have already been held in Agra and Lucknow, according to the Directorate of Horticulture and Food Processing authorities. The new dates for the show are February 24–25 in Prayagraj, February 25–26 in Varanasi, and March 14–17 in Saharanpur.

  • Odisha's Agriculture & Allied Sectors Grew By 65%

    According to the latest Odisha Economic Survey report, the agriculture sector will grow at a much faster rate than India (3.5%) in 2022-23. (2022-23). In 2022-23, all agricultural sub-sectors grew at a rapid pace compared to the previous year. The crop sub-sector grew by 5.4% in 2022-23, compared to -1.6% in 2021-22. The combined impact of drought, unseasonal rain, and Cyclone Jawad during the Kharif harvesting season resulted in crop sector contraction in 2021-22. The forestry and logging sub-sector experienced a 5.5% growth rate in 2022-23 (AE), compared to a 1.8% growth rate in 2021-22. According to the report, livestock and fishery subsectors are expected to grow by 2.4 percent and 13.3 percent, respectively, in 2022-23 over the previous year.

     

  • Agriculture Budget Increases 5-fold to Rs 1,25,000 crore since 2014, Says PM Modi

    PM Modi took a shot at the previous regime, claiming that all budgets announced during the Modi 1.0 and 2.0 governments were geared towards 'Gaon, Gareeb, and Kisan.' "The agricultural budget, which was less than 25,000 crore in 2014, has been increased to more than 1,25,000 crore today," he said. While emphasizing India's foreign reliance on food security, PM Modi noted that "India's agricultural sector has remained distressed for a long time since independence." He emphasized how India's farmers transformed the situation by making the country not only 'atmanirbhar' (self-sufficient), but also capable of exporting food grains. "Today, India exports many types of agricultural products," the Prime Minister said, highlighting the government's efforts to make domestic and international markets more accessible to farmers.
