  • NABARD Allocates Rs 230 crore for Rural Infrastructure Projects in Mizoram

    A grant of Rs 230 crore has been approved by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) for rural infrastructure projects in Mizoram. State Chief Minister Zoramthanga reported that KVSSLV Prasada Rao, General Manager, Mizoram Regional Office, on Monday delivered a letter from the Chairman NABARD informing allocation of Rs 230 crore under RIDF XXVIII for sanctioning of rural infrastructure projects in Mizoram.

  • KALIA Scheme: Govt. Will Provide Rs 2k Each to 4 Lakh Farmers on September 1

    On the occasion of Nuakhai, which will begin on Thursday (1 September), the Odisha government will provide financial support of Rs 2,000 per person to more than 41 lakh farmers, including landless agricultural laborers. The help would be given under the Kalia (Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation) scheme, for which the government will bear an expenditure of Rs 869 crore. Farmers receive Rs 4,000 from the state government in two installments as part of the income support program.

    According to the World Food Programme (WFP), Sri Lanka's economy has continued to deteriorate, with the headline inflation rate rocketing to yet another all-time high in July. According to WFP, this rate of 66.7% marked yet another alarming increase from 58.9% in June (based on the most recent year-over-year National Consumer Price Index [NCPI]).

  • UP Cabinet Approves Installation of 2,100 Tube Wells in 62 Districts

    On Tuesday, the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet approved a plan to build 2,100 tube wells in 62 districts and also decided to give farmers free 'toria' (variety of mustard) seeds. According to state agriculture minister Surya Pratap Shahi, the Cabinet meeting, presided over by chief minister Yogi Adityanath, decided to install new tube wells in 62 districts to provide farmers with access to agricultural facilities.

    The National Bee Board hosted a workshop on "Strengthening of Export Potential of Honey" at Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Cooperative Management (VAMNICOM), Pune, Maharashtra, under the direction of Dr. Abhilaksh Likhi, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare (NBB).
