  • Distribution of "Higher Yielding Varieties" seeds begin

    Union Agriculture minister initiated the process of distribution of "Higher Yielding Varieties" seeds in seed MiniKits, by handing some over to farmers himself. The aim of this free distribution is to be self reliant in production of pulses and oilseeds.

  • Pulses and Oilseeds procurement under MSP

    Almost 7.3 Lakh MT of Pulses and Oilseeds have been procured from the farmers under MSP. Over 107 LMT of these are to be procured under the Price Support Scheme from 11 states.

  • Delhi air quality to deteriorate as June progresses

    Delhi air quality is expected to stay moderate for next 3-4 days and then it will deteriorate. Winds from the west will spray dust over the city. PM10 will be the main pollutant.

  • UK and Australia finalizing free trade deal

  • India to reduce import duty on edible oil

    Edible oil prices have increased across India and vast quantity is imported by India. The government is considering lowering import taxes so that the edible oil prices come under control.

    Farmers have described their protests as 'thoughtful revolution' which will never die. Every government faces opposition when it goes against the will of the citizens. The government must agree to their demands and we will win. They claim that India is becoming an autocratic rather than a democratic society.

  • India exports marine items 10 percent less than last year

    Indian exports of marine items have seen a decrease. Frozen shrimp and Frozen fish were again the most exported items. The decrease in exports is due to the Corona Pandemic.

  • "National Food Security Act" Ration Cards for the downtrodden

    NFSA Ration Cards are being allocated for the poorest of the poorest of the country. The states are to select the persons who are suffering this pandemic due to the lockdown, those who are not in a position to help themselves financially.

  • Indus Best Mega Food Park set up in Raipur, Chhattisgarh

    Indus Best Mega Food Park has been set up in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, which will assist farmers of Raipur and nearby districts in processing and packaging of food items. This park will generate employment locally and will serve the farmers.

  • Government encouraging foreign investment in Food sector

    Union Minister for Agriculture and Food processing, Mr Narendra Singh Tomar has said that the government is encouraging investment in all sectors including food processing in India. 

  • Minimum wage to be setup for all sectors

    Government has created an Expert Group that will decide the minimum wage for the country, through research on International minimum wages.
