  • COVID-19: India reports 46,253 fresh COVID-19 cases in 24 hour 

    India registered a 20 per cent jump in the fresh COVID-19 cases as on November 4.  46,253 fresh cases were registered against 38,310 on Tuesday. However, this is not disrupting the number active cases as 53,357 people have been discharged in the last 24 hours and the total active cases on Wednesday stand at 5,33,787 while the total tally is 83,13,877. 

  • Republic TV editor's arrest is 'misuse of state power' says Union Home Minister 

    Union Home Minister Amit Shah today hit out at the Congress and its allies in Maharashtra for "misuse of state power" against Republic TV and its editor Arnab Goswami. The Home Minister's remarks came after Goswami's arrest by the Maharashtra Police. Shah tweeted, “Congress and its allies have shamed democracy once again. Blatant misuse of state power against Republic TV and Arnab Goswami is an attack on individual freedom and the 4th pillar of democracy.” 

  • US Election 2020:  Alleging fraud, Trump says he'll go to SC to stop 'voting'  

    US President Donald Trump claimed victory on November 4, 2020  morning in the 2020 presidential election while the counting of the votes was still incomplete and said that he will be going to the Supreme Court to stop "voting" alleging there was a fraud. "This is a fraud on the American public, this is an embarrassment to our country," he told supporters at the White House on Wednesday delivering a muddled message. 

  • Bollywood actor Faraaz Khan dies at 46  

    Bollywood actor Faraaz Khan, 46, was battling for his life after being diagnosed with a brain infection. The news was that he is no more was confirmed by actress-filmmaker Pooja Bhatt on social media. 

    Pooja Bhatt tweeted, “With a heavy heart I break the news that #FaraazKhan has left us for what I believe is a better place. Gratitude to all for your help & good wishes when he needed it most. Please keep his family in your thoughts & prayers. The void he has left behind will be impossible to fill.” 

  • Turkey earthquake death toll increases to 114 

    The death toll due to the massive 6.6-magnitude quake that hit Turkey's Izmir province on October 31 has increased to 114, while the number of injured persons stood at 1,035, disaster management authorities said on November 4, 2020. 

  • Sarah McBride becomes first transgender US state senator 

    Sarah McBride, a prominent American advocate for LGBTQ rights, has become the first and only openly transgender state senator in the US after winning the race in Delaware. McBride tweeted, “We did it. We won the general election. Thank you, thank you, thank you.” 

  • JNU Results 2020: JNUEE final answer keys released, results to be out soon  

    The National Testing Agency, NTA has released the final answer key of Jawaharlal Nehru University Entrance Exam, JNUEE 2020 on the official website. Applicants who appeared in the entrance exam can download the subject-wise final answer keys from the official website at jnuexams.nta.nic.in. 

  • India steps up military diplomacy & engages neighbours

    More officers from neighbouring counties will be trained at India's prestigious strategic leadership institution i.e. National Defence College (NDC) as New Delhi increases its engagement with neighbours to counter the growing influence of China. Five more friendly countries i.e. Tajikistan, Indonesia, Maldives, Uzbekistan and Philippines, will now send their officers to India for annual training in national and international security-related fields.
