Leaching

Leaching occurs when soil loses important water-soluble nutrients required for crop growth as a result of prolonged rain or irrigation. Some soils may leach more than others, based on factors such as soil structure and local climate. Knowing what leaching is, how it impacts the environment and community health, and how it affects agricultural crops is critical for farmers all around the world.
