Mariculture

Mariculture is a distinct sector of aquaculture that focuses on the cultivation of marine organisms in settings like the open ocean, enclosed ocean sections, or saltwater tanks and raceways. Its primary objective is to yield a diverse range of products for human use, predominantly in the form of food items, but also extending to non-food products such as jewellery and cosmetics. This encompasses the farming of various marine entities, including fish, shellfish, molluscs like clams and oysters, as well as seaweed and other organisms.
