The Rabi season has started in India. Farmers across the country have started sowing operations. In such a situation, farmers will need an electricity connection to irrigate the crops. Keeping this in mind, the Madhya Pradesh Government is giving temporary electricity connections to the farmers for Irrigation pumps.
New Rates for Single Phase and Three Phase Connections
According to various media sources, new electricity rates for single-phase and three-phase connections have been implemented for temporary irrigation pump connections for farmers of rural areas by the electricity distribution company of Madhya Pradesh. Under this scheme, farmers will be able to get electricity connection at cheap rate for irrigation in Rabi season.
16 districts of these divisions will get temporary electricity connections
According to the decision of the Madhya Pradesh State Government, new electricity rates for single-phase and three-phase connections have been implemented for temporary irrigation pump connections for farmers of rural areas of 16 districts of Bhopal, Narmadapuram, Gwalior and Chambal divisions by Madhya Pradesh Vidyut Vitran Company. Farmers can now take connections in their fields for irrigation at these rates.
What are the New Electricity Rates for Temporary Electricity Connections
The rates fixed for single-phase and three-phase issued by the company are as follows-
Now the farmers of rural areas will have to pay a total of Rs 1843 including the subsidy payable by the state government instead of Rs 4,222 due to fixed charge, energy charge for single phase 1 HP temporary agriculture pump connection for three months. Whereas for 2 HP Rs 3480 and 3 HP only Rs 5,118 will have to be paid.
Similarly, the person taking three-phase temporary 3 HP agricultural pump connection will have to pay a total of Rs 4879 including fixed charge, energy charge for three months.
On the other hand, Rs 7,994 for 5 HP, Rs 12,668 for 7.5/8 HP and Rs 15,784 for 10 HP will be payable.
The new rates of temporary agricultural pump connections issued by the company will be considered effective from November 1, 2021.
Three months advance payment will have to be deposited with the company for agricultural pump connection
SC & ST Farmers Will Get Free Electricity Connection:
According to the decision taken in the meeting of the Council of Ministers last month, free electricity connections will be given to agricultural consumers of scheduled castes and tribes for pumps up to 5 horsepower with land up to one hectare. About 9 lakh 25 thousand farmers are expected to get benefited by this scheme.
