MAVIM (Mahila Arthik Vikas Mahamandal) established an e-business platform with the goal of establishing social and economic progress for women via Sustainable Development.
The portal provides a platform for female entrepreneurs and farmers to expand their trading opportunities and reach a bigger clientele. This was unveiled on International Women's Day.
On January 20, 2003, the Maharashtra government designated MAVIM as a nodal agency to undertake different women empowerment programmes through Self Help Groups (SHGs).
MAVIM is the State's 'Women Development Corporation' and is overseen by the Women and Child Welfare Department. MAVIM is committed to creating business possibilities and opportunities for women, as well as investing in human capital and capacity development for women, so empowering them economically and socially and allowing them to attain sustainable livelihoods.
The goal is to improve women's entire capacities, including self-confidence and independence. Also, to encourage women's entrepreneurial growth and to synchronise job possibilities and market linkages. Furthermore, as a step toward sustainable development, enable women's rights to equal opportunities, prosperity, and involvement in governance, and construct grassroots institutions for SHGs. Through numerous SHGs, 1.5 million women are organised and linked to MAVIM.
It is an eBusiness site for women to promote and sell their products to a wider audience, as well as to expand trade prospects, using ESDS Software Solutions as its technological partner.
This portal, developed by ESDS, is a technologically advanced marketplace for various business activities, including buyer and supplier trading eco-systems.
