On the occasion of National Panchayati Raj Diwas Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Swamitva Yojana. This newly launched Swamitva scheme is to facilitate Loans to Villagers on their land falling under Yojana's periphery. Initially this Yojana is launched in a pilot mode in 6 states i.e Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Karnataka & Himachal Pradesh on trial bases. Through this Scheme, the mapping of Village land including plots will be done via drones and this will be helpful in resolving land disputes among Villagers. The ownership of residential land in rural areas of the country will be done using modern technology.
Benefits and special features of Swamitva Yojana

The purpose of this yojana is to decide the ownership and record of the residential land in the rural areas.

On 24th April 2020, the scheme was launched on the occasion of Panchayati Raj Day under the Ministry of Panchayati Raj.

It was revealed that the villagers have no record of their residential land nor do they have any documents to prove it. So there was a need for a plan for this so that the record of that land could be decided.

The people in rural areas will get the right to property of residential land.

There will be no dispute over the ownership of the land.

Using drones, there will be measurement of residential land in rural areas.

To accomplish this, state-of-the-art technology like Google mapping will be used.

When the record of residential property in rural areas is done, then the tax can also be collected from the owners of the property.

The money coming from the tax will be used for rural infra-structure.

Property Ownership Certificate will be given.

Loan can be obtained on property after ownership plan.

With the ownership plan all the village society's works will be online.

Due to being online, people will be able to see full details of their property online.

Details of the land will be provided on the e village Swaraj portal.
The e-portal will also give people a certificate of ownership of their land.
