The demand for milk and products made from milk in India is growing day by day. In such a situation, the demand for those animals which are at the forefront of milk production has increased.

There are many breeds of cows, from which more than 50 litres of milk can be obtained daily. Cow's milk is also considered very nutritious, so its demand always remains high in the market. But interestingly, very few cattle owners know that there are many such cows in the country, from which up to 80 litres of milk can be obtained daily. Let us tell you about such cow breeds.

Farmers can earn good profit by rearing/raising these cow breeds;

Gir cow of Gujarat

This cow is one of the highest milk-producing cow in the country. Gir cow is found in the Gir forests of Gujarat, hence its name has also been named accordingly. The demand for Gir cow is high even in abroad. Moreover, Gir cow is also mainly reared in Brazil and Israel. The specialty of this cow is that it gives 50 to 80 litres of milk daily.

Sahiwal Cow

This cow is more reared in UP, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh. If we talk about the milk production of this cow, then it gives milk from 2000 to 3000 liters annually. This is the reason why cattlemen like to keep this cow very much. The specialty of this cow is that it can give milk for about 10 months after giving birth to a calf.

Rathi cow

This cow is found in Ganganagar, Bikaner, and Jaisalmer areas of Rajasthan, but nowadays even Rathi cows are reared in Gujarat. This breed of cow is known for its high milk production. From this, milk can be obtained from 6 to 8 liters daily. Many livestock also gets up to 15 liters of milk daily from this cow. It weighs around 280 to 300 kg. 

Red Sindhi cow

This cow is found in the Sindh area, hence its name was Red Sindhi cow. Now this cow is also found in Punjab, Haryana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Odisha. This cow is known for its high milk production in the country. This cow can also give milk from 2000 to 3000 litres annually.
