Things to buy on Dhanteras

Diwali celebrations begin on Dhanteras, also known as Dhanatrayodashi, which is incomplete without the purchase of suitable or say auspicious items that may bring good luck and wealth to your home.

Lakshmi Ganesh idols

Considering that Diwali is a festival dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesh, buying their idols is the perfect Dhanteras gift. You could go for both clay or metal idols.

Broom

A broom is another good thing that you can purchase on Dhanteras. According to Indian mythology, sweeping the house with a broom encourages the removal of negativity from the house and promotes the arrival of positivity. Additionally, it is also believed that the broom sweeps out poverty as well as negativity and makes way for the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi who is the Goddess of wealth. A broom purchase is an ideal approach to put your financial troubles to rest if you've been struggling financially.

Gold and Silver

On Dhanteras, people typically opt to purchase gold or silver. You could buy gold jewelry, coins, or kitchenware. The tradition of buying shiny metals goes back to the Yama story, in which the wife of King Hima's son was warned that he would die from a snake bite on the fourth day of their marriage, but she protected him by adorning the home with glittering lamps and ornaments to divert his attention. This is due to the legend that gold and silver can fend off any negative energy in addition to being seen as auspicious purchases.
