1. G. B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology

The G. B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology provides 68 graduate-level, 53 doctoral-level, and 16 undergraduate courses in the fields of management, veterinary science, home science, basic science, and agriculture. The institution was established in 1960 and is the country's first agricultural university.

The Pantnagar, Uttarakhand-based university bears Govind Ballabh Pant's name; he was the first chief minister of Uttar Pradesh and recipient of the Bharat Ratna award. The university served as the nation's Green Revolution's forerunner.

Admissions to G. B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology

The University Entrance Examination results are used to create a merit list that guides the admissions process closely. However, there are a few exceptions:

  • Except for B.Tech. Food Tech., admissions to B.Tech. programs are determined on JEE merit through a counseling procedure.

  • For Ph.D. programs, applicants from outside the state must pass the ICAR admission test (Agronomy and Plant Pathology).

  • The CAT/CMAT/GD/Interview admissions method is used for MBA/MBA (Agribusiness) applicants.

  • Admission to M.Tech. programs will be determined by the GATE qualifying score and the Bachelor's degree's overall GPA. The ICAR Entrance Exam will be used to admit students from other states.

  • Reservations for SC/ST students are 5%.

2. Forest Research Institute, Dehradun

Imperial Forest Research Institute, which subsequently became Forest Research Institute (FRI) in 1906, was founded in 1878. FRI falls under the authority of the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE).

The university provides instruction in several forestry and biological study areas. The Forest Research Institute provides Ph.D. and MSc programs. The two-year MSc programs in forestry, wood science and technology, environmental management, and cellulose and paper technology are among them. The Forest Research Institute takes an entrance exam that is administered by the university itself to get admission to the Postgraduate program.

At the Forest Research Institute, admissions take place in January and/or February. Entrance exams are required for all courses to be admitted. The chosen applicants will be contacted to take a written exam. Based on the student's performance on the written test, a course-specific merit list is created. The Institute exclusively accepts offline applications. Before the deadline for submission, candidates must properly submit their applications.

3. Uttaranchal University

Uttaranchal University is regarded as one of the greatest institutions in India since it offers a wide range of courses and a variety of specialties within those courses. The university offers undergraduate, graduate, and certificate programs as well as courses in law, administration, agriculture, communication, and the liberal arts and sciences. As the top-ranked law school in Uttarakhand, Uttaranchal University is well-known for its legal studies programs. Seven colleges, including the Uttaranchal Institute of Management, the School of Applied and Life Sciences, the Law College of Dehradun, the Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Science, the School of Liberal Arts, and the School of Agriculture, are associated with this institution.

4. Kumaun University

Kumaun University is a public research institution that was founded in Nainital, Uttarakhand, in 1973. The university has three campuses, one each in Almora, Nainital, and Bhimtal, with a total area of 160 acres. The NAAC has awarded Kumaun University with an "A" Grade and the UGC has granted it recognition. The University, which includes more than 65 linked institutions, was placed number 53 in The Week's 2020 ranking of universities. A variety of areas, including Arts, Commerce, Science, Management, Education, Technology, Visual Art, Law, and Agriculture, are represented through the diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate, doctorate, and certificate programs offered by Kumaun University. The institution is renowned for its teaching and research in the fields of economics, management, particle physics, forestry, and ecology.

Doon (PG) College of Agriculture Science and Technology, Dehradun

The Doon group of colleges includes the Doon (PG) College of Agriculture Science and Technology in Dehradun. It includes five component colleges, including one school, and two ITI’s, and all of them have received approval from state and federal government agencies. In 2008, it obtained Doon Group of Colleges certification. There are three further institutions there that provide degrees in agriculture, technology, education, and paramedicine and health.
