The Information and Training Centre of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) is organizing a one-day training programme. In this programme, training will be given on indoor gardening and maintenance, mushroom cultivation and herbal gardening.
On indoor gardening and maintenance, training will be given on January 29, whereas mushroom cultivation training will be on January 30 and training on herbal gardening will be given on January 31.
These training programmes will be useful to home-makers, farmers, self-help groups, school and college students. Apart from it, training notes, scribbling pads and certificates will be given to all participants.

However recently, a training programme on optimum usage of fertilizers in paddy crops was also held at Papparapatti village in Veerapandi block.
It was organised by the Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA). B. Karthikeyan, Assistant Director of Agriculture (in- charge) explained soil health card scheme to justify the fertilizers needs to paddy crops and fertigation techniques in integrated nutrient management of paddy. Block Technology Manager, K. Rajendran, explained the usage of split doses of fertilizers to paddy.
The training on the importance of micronutrients and correction measures was given to farmers by retired Joint Director of Agriculture, J. Palaniyappan,
The farmers were divided into five groups and identified micro-nutrient deficiencies in the paddy field. However, a demonstration on panchakavya spraying to paddy crop was also carried out during the session.
