6th Edition of Em-Power will be organized by the FICCI Odisha State Council on 10th August 2021 via Zoom Virtual Platform in partnership with the Department of Energy, Government of Odisha under the theme “Odisha Power Scenario: Challenges, Opportunities, and Way Forward”.
It will provide a platform for exploring the growing opportunities and compelling concerns of the energy sector, gain updates on latest technologies and trends and capitalize on new and prospective business opportunities in the State.
Why this Event?

Pandemic has short circuited Odisha’s power sector and its impact has posed various challenges and consequentially opened the doors for new opportunities and improvements in the power sector. DISCOMS are also investing now on improved system flexibilities to tackle the technical issues due to load reduction and shifting of daily peak demand.

On the other hand, being a cyclone prone state, Odisha battles with disrupted power supply during any such event which takes a Herculean task to restore the same. To tackle the issue, a robust power infrastructure resilient to such disasters is the need of the hour. Though the Government has initiated the process in a phased wise manner, this needs to be prioritized.

Indian power sector is undergoing a significant change that has redefined the industry outlook. Sustained economic growth continues to drive electricity demand in India. India’s continued industrialization and urbanization will make huge demands of its energy sector and its policy makers.

In the same line, the state of Odisha in its commitment to sustainability has pledged to expand infrastructure and upgrade technology for supplying modern and sustainable energy services for all. Energy systems capable of delivering to the ever growing and emerging needs of the state is the need of the hour.
