International Webinar on "Progress and Prospects in genomics, genetics and breeding for biotic stress in plants" will be organized by the Plantgenomia on 22nd August 2021. Virtual Zoom/Youtube Session will be started at 10:00 am (IST) and the link will be shared via email to the registered Participants.

Plant breeding, application of genetic principles to produce plants that are more useful to humans. This is accomplished by selecting plants found to be economically or aesthetically desirable, first by controlling the mating of selected individuals, and then by selecting certain individuals among the progeny.

Speaker Information: Dr. Gnanesh Nanjappa

Dr. Gnanesh Nanjappa has been awarded SERB Ramanujan fellowship, instituted by the Government of India and currently working at CSRTI, Mysore. He obtained his doctoral degree in Genetics and Plant Breeding from University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS), Bangalore and International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT), Patancheru, India. He has more than 11 years of research experience in plant genomics and molecular breeding.
