ISKCON & Shriram Institute Collaborates to Support Indian Traditional Knowledge, Rural Development & Environment Protection

Shriram Institute for Industrial Research and ISKCON will explore joint areas for the development of innovative technologies in the area of Food & Nutrition, Cow products including cow dung and urine, milk products, Water management, low-cost construction materials, and novel paints & coating for use in the new projects and renovation of existing structures in temples, environment education and environment protection.

International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) delegation led by Swami Karuna Chandra Das and Swami Vishnu Svarupa Das from the North region visited Shriram Institute for Industrial Research (SIIR). The delegation had interactions with various experts and team leaders, visited various scientific facilities & state-of-the-art laboratories in the field of Food and pharma, Ayurveda, personal care, environment, waste management, toxicology, etc.

The SIIR team was led by Dr. Mukul Das, Director, and Vijay Sardana, Advocate, Supreme Court of India and Techno-legal Advisor for the institute and supported by all departmental heads.

Focus on ‘Atma Nirbhar Bharat’

SIIR and ISKCON will also jointly focus on “Atma Nirbhar Bharat '' initiatives in the field of Entrepreneurship programs for women empowerment, rural employment generation including promotion of traditional knowledge of India with sound scientific logic.

Farmer upliftment through technology interventions, Green Energy solutions for villages, used flower-based products in temples, biodegradable tableware, etc. are some of the focus areas.

The ISKCON team appreciated the world-class technical facilities available under one roof at SIIR in a big 10-acre modern campus.

The ISKCON team appreciated the product development by SIIR teams and application-oriented research and development work undertaken by the scientists of the institute so that the technology can ultimately benefit the users and society.

It can be foreseen that this collaboration between SIIR & ISKCON will strengthen the promotion of traditional Indian knowledge which will be validated by the latest technologies using world-class equipment and laboratory infrastructure. It will be a true amalgamation of spirituality with modern technologies to establish an Indian knowledge base in the global market for the benefit of mankind and the environment.
