Satish Tiwari, Sr. General Manager and Head Expert Marketing of Coromandel visited KJ Chaupal to speak with the KJ Team and share his thoughts about the decade-long relationship between the two agri-companies.
KJ team welcomed Satish Tiwari to the KJ Chaupal event at the Delhi Head Office with a round of applause. KJ Chaupal is a Krishi Jagran initiative where industry personnel are invited to discuss the issues currently going on in the agriculture sector and the farming community. Guests are welcomed by the whole Krishi Jagran team and invited to deliver a speech.
Felicitating the guests with a plant is a long-held tradition that is unique only to Krishi Jagran. Gifting plants to guests is the symbolism of wishing them good luck and friendship.
Welcoming Satish Tiwari, M C Dominic, Editor-in-chief of Krishi Jagran, talked about closely working with Satish Tiwari ever since Krishi Jagran was a young media group. He expressed his gratitude to Satish Tiwari and the Coromandel Group for their unrelenting support.
Satish Tiwari talked about his journey from doing MBA from IIM Calcutta to working with ADAMA and joining Coramandel. He joined Coramandel in 2014 as the general manager, in charge of north and east India. Coramandel is a traditional fertilizer company that is the 2nd largest fertilizer company in India after IFFCO. In terms of capacity, Coromandel is almost equivalent to IFFCO.
Sharing Coramandel’s accomplishments in the past year, Satish Tiwari highlighted the successful launch of Piranha, Coromandel’s superior quality insecticide, in 2016 which was covered by Krishi Jagran. After that, Coromandel launched 3-4 products every year including last year when the group launched 6 products. As per last year, Coromandel drove revenue of 20 thousand crores.
Right now, Coromandel is focusing on creating water-soluble fertilizers and crop protection products that will be launched soon.
When asked about how Coromandel is giving back to the farmer community, Satish Tiwari said," We have several CSR activities going on throughout the country. If we talk about the southern states, we have installed agri clinics where farmers can come to discuss crop protection, crop health, and other such issues with qualified and experienced agronomists, free of charge. We have also been distributing scholarships to empower girl children on a district level to girls who have scored 1st divisions.”
