TVS Motor Witnesses a 21% Rise in Two-Wheeler Sales in February

TVS Motor recorded an increase in its two-wheeler sale in February this year.

TVS Motor Company reported a 21% growth in two-wheeler segment in the month of February 2021. The company sold 284,581 units this month. This is a commendable increase as compared to 235,891 units in February 2020.  

The company reported a 16% increase in sales of motorcycles, touching 137,259 units in February. Last February, it was 118,514 units. Its scooter sales increased by 56%, touching 95,525 units in February. Last February, it was 60,633 units.  

Domestic two-wheeler sales of the company touched 195,145 units in February. This was a 5% increase. The company had sold 169,684 units in February last year.  

TVS Motor saw a decrease in the sales of its three-wheelers. Only 13,166 units were sold in February this year, compared to 17,370 units in February last year. This was a 24.02% decrease.  

Total exports of TVS Motor increased by 23%, reporting a sale of 101,789 units in February 2021. This was a clear rise as compared to 82,877 units in February last year.  

The company’s two-wheeler exports rose by 35% in February 2021, touching 89,436 units.  

According to company officials, export market demand is strong, but a dearth in container availability is impacting the overall expert volumes of the company.

TVS Motor features four manufacturing plants. One is in Karawang, Indonesia. The other three are Indian plants located in Mysore in Karnataka, Hosur in Tamil Nadu, and Nalagarh in Himachal Pradesh.
