Central Bank of India (CBI) is inviting for retired or serving officers, not below the rank of General Manager or equivalent, to join the bank as Internal Ombudsman on a contractual basis. If you have a background in banking, non-banking finance, regulation, supervision, payment and settlement systems, credit information, or consumer protection, you can apply for the post.

Job Profile

The Internal Ombudsman will report directly to the Managing Director & CEO or Executive Director of the Bank. They will serve as the focal point for the Internal Grievance Redressal System, ensuring minimal escalation of complaints to the Banking Ombudsman. The role aims to enhance customer confidence in the internal redressal mechanism.

Age & Eligibility

  • Name of the Post: Internal Ombudsman (on Contract basis)

  • Age: Applicants must not exceed 70 years of age before the completion of the tenure.

  • Eligibility:

    1. Retired or serving officers, not below the rank of General Manager or equivalent, from another bank/Financial Sector Regulatory Body/NBSP/NBFC/CIC (other than Central Bank of India).

    2. Minimum seven years of experience in relevant fields such as banking, non-banking finance, regulation, supervision, payment and settlement systems, credit information, and/or consumer protection.

The Internal Ombudsman will be stationed at the Head/Corporate Office or in a location with a Zonal/Regional Office for seamless coordination.

Contract Period

The initial appointment will be for a fixed term of not less than 3 years, but not exceeding 5 years. Reappointment or extension of the term in the same bank will not be eligible.

Contract Amount

Remuneration will be determined by the Bank in accordance with government rules and regulations.

Selection Procedure

Shortlisted candidates will undergo a personal interaction session. The Bank's decision in this regard will be final.
