Government to set up 3,500 FPOs in Next Three Years to Double Farmer Incomes
According to a top official, Centre is planning to create 3,500 farmer producer organisations (FPOs) in coming three years to make sure farmers get remunerative prices for their produce. Neel Kamal Darbari, MD of Small Farmer Agribusiness Consortium, the government’s nodal agency that promotes FPOs said, “Most of these FPOs would be based on government’s one-product-one-district initiative where in FPOs will mainly promote & trade particular commodity besides other produce in small quantities”. She said this will help clusters as well as FPOs in getting identity.

J Anbazhagan, DMK MLA Dies in Chennai due to Covid-19
J Anbazhagan, Tamil Nadu politician and one of the DMK's most important faces in the state, died in Chennai today after battling Covid-19 for over a week. 61-year-old Anbazhagan was admitted to hospital on 2nd June after "severe acute respiratory distress" and had tested positive for Coronavirus at the time. After a day, he was placed on ventilator support when his breathing trouble worsened.

Delhi to Double Beds for COVID-19 Patients in 22 Hospitals as Cases Goes Up
Delhi government has just announced that it will be increasing beds in 22 private hospitals looking at the surging Coronavirus cases. The government says the number will be doubled this time. The twenty two hospitals include Apollo, Batra, Fortis, Max, BL Kapoor, Maharaja Agrasen and Venkateswara. At present, these hospitals have 1,441 beds for COVID-19, and the count will now be increased to 3,456.

Assam: 2 Firefighters Die as Massive Fire Continues at Oil Well
In Assam’s Tinsukia district, two firefighters have been found dead near the gas well of Oil India Ltd where a massive fire broke on Tuesday. The damaged Baghjan oil well that has been spewing gas for the last two weeks has caught fire on Tuesday. The fire broke out when clearing operations were taking place at the site, as per Oil India.

Govt Emphasizes on Expanding MGNREGS to deal with Migrant Employment Crisis
The central government has been urging to push the expansion of the rural employment guarantee scheme MGNREGS during the lockdown. Many migrants have lost their jobs due to the lockdown and have returned to their homes. Therefore, the central and state governments are now emphasizing on providing them employment, besides immediate relief measures. The Rural Development Ministry, which implements the scheme, is now looking at widening of the scheme.

Maharashtra Renames its Environment Ministry as 'Environment and Climate Change Ministry'
Maharashtra has renamed its Environment Ministry as Environment and Climate Change Ministry. This has been done days after being hit by cyclone Nisarga. The department is handled by Shiv Sena MLA Aaditya Thackeray. Thackeray on twitter thanked his cabinet colleagues for their support to rename the ministry. On Friday, on the occasion of World Environment Day, Thackeray & Minister of State Samanjay Bansode had hinted that the department would be renamed so as to include the larger domain of climate change within its ambit.

Private hospitals Offers home care packages for Covid-19 patients
Amid the rising cases of Covid-19, private hospitals of Delhi including Max Healthcare, Medanta and Fortis Healthcare in Gurugram have begun providing treatment at home to Covid-19 patients with mild symptoms. This method of treatment might help reduce overcrowding at hospitals, says official.
As per reports, Max Healthcare’s homecare package is priced at Rs 5,000 (without BP machine) and Rs 7,000 (with BP machine) for a period of 15 days. Fortis Healthcare's home care plan is priced at Rs 6,000 for 17 days while Medanta's package starts at Rs 4,900 for 15 days.

Assam Gas Spill: Two firefighters die in gas well blowout fire
The two firemen from Oil India Limited (OIL) identified as Tekeshwar Gohain (55) and Durlov Gogoi (35) have died a day after a blowout from a gas well in Assam’s Tinsukia district caught fire. “We are awaiting details but we suspect that the firemen jumped into the pond after the fire broke out to save themselves,” said Tinsukia SP Shiladitya Chetia
