  • Monsoon 2020: Southwest Monsoon to Arrive Northeast Today

    The onset of southwest monsoon is expected in central and northern part of the Bay of Bengal, including the states of Mizoram, Manipur, Tripura, parts of Assam and Nagaland today. Along with the northeastern states, monsoon may also hit northern parts of Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra. The IMD has predicted that the monsoon 2020 is going to be normal. The pace of the southwest monsoon is also normal and is moving towards south at its own pace.

  • Government to Offer 50% Subsidy on Transportation of Fruits, Veggies if Prices Fall Below Threshold Levels

    The Centre will offer 50 percent subsidy on the transportation of vegetables and fruits if prices fall below threshold levels, according to government officials. An official from the food processing ministry said that “The subsidy is for storage as well as transportation of all fruits & vegetables where prices are below the average price or 15 percent lower than last year's prices”. The official added that this will support FPOs (farmer producer organisations), individual farmers & companies, who have lost business or got poor returns for crops because of Coronavirus lockdown.

  • Coronavirus Latest Update: India to Turn 4th worst-hit spot with 10,000 new positive cases 

    With nearly 10,000 new cases, India reported to be the sixth worst-hit country by the Corona Pandemic— reported over 9,000 COVID-19 cases in a single day. As per worldometer report, India has total 287,155 positive cases which has overtaken Italy yesterday with 8,107 death toll. However, total 140,979 corona patients have recovered so far. 

  • NIRF Rankings 2020: Indian Institute of Technology Madras Rated Top Educational Institute in India

    According to National Institutional Ranking Framework Rankings (NIRF) India Rankings 2020 of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras is the best educational institute in the country. Indian Institute of Science (IISc), located in Bengaluru took the second position and IIT Delhi got third place in this year's NIRF India Rankings.

  • Famous Sabarimala Temple Will Not Open for Devotees This Month 

    Kerala Devaswom Minister Kadakampally Surendran announced that the famous Sabarimala temple will not open to public this month. Surendran said that the Sabarimala temple festival, which was scheduled to begin from June 19, will also not be conducted. In a meeting with the Sabarimala tantri and Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB), it was decided that the Sabarimala temple will not be opened for public for the monthly pooja & temple festival will also be cancelled,” said the Devaswom Minister. 

  • Bollywood Actor Amitabh Bachchan Arranges 4 Flights to Send 700 UP Migrants Stuck In Mumbai

    Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan on Wednesday arranged four special flights to send about 700 migrants from Mumbai to their homes in Uttar Pradesh. There are two more special flights that will take off on Thursday, as per sources. These flights were organised on actor’s directive by his close adviser Rajesh Yadav, who also manages his home production company AB Corp Ltd.

  • Delhi: Govt Hospital Docs Threaten strike as their three months’ salary on due 

    Amid the corona tragedy, doctors and health staffs of North MCD hospital which comes under the Delhi government have threatened to resign en masse or hold a ‘pen down’ strike if they are not paid salaries pending for past three months. Moreover, Doctors of Kasturba hospital have given a letter to the administration threatening mass resignation from June 16.
