  •  ALERT!!! No Complete Lockdown Again in India from June 15 

    Recently, a screenshot is being widely circulated on social media which claims that the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has hinted for implementing a complete lockdown again after June 15. The photo, allegedly a screenshot of a report from a Hindi news channel, has also claimed that air and rail travel can be stopped. But, it is to be noted that the news being spread is fake. As per, ‘”PIB Fact Check – This is fake. Beware of such misleading photos spreading fake news.”  

  • Centre to Give 50 percent Subsidy for Fruit & Vegetable Transport

    Centre has issued guidelines to provide 50 percent subsidy in a fixed timeframe for storing as well as transporting vegetables and fruits to prevent post-harvest losses and distress sale by growers when prices fall. Subsidy will be given if the price in notified production clusters drops below the average of the preceding 3 years or if it falls more than 15 percent from last year’s price at the time of harvest. The subsidy will also be given if the price goes down below the benchmark price for procurement, for a specified period.

  • On World Day Against Child Labour, Activists and Leaders Call for Efforts to End Child Labour

    On World Day Against Child Labour, many activists, political leaders have tweeted on this year's theme i.e. ‘protect children more than ever from COVID-19’. The tweets called for efforts to stop child labour, especially at a time the whole world is battling coronavirus pandemic. Kailash Satyarthi, Nobel laureate & child rights activist wrote "The yardstick of a visionary & decisive leadership is the primacy it attaches to children in its policies, programmes & economic schemes."

  • The Situation in Delhi is Horrendous, Horrific and Pathetic: SC 

    Highlighting the lack of care and concern of government hospitals amid the flooded corona positive cases in the national capital, a bench comprising of Justices Ashok Bhushan, S K Kaul and M R Shah, said: "The situation in Delhi is horrendous, horrific and pathetic." 

    Concerning over the pathetic condition, the justices of the apex court said, "Very sorry state of affairs in Delhi and inside its hospitals. Look at the treatment meted out to patients. The patients are crying and no one is looking after them. Relatives are not even informed, as reported by media, after the death of patients...”. The Supreme Court has asked the center to take serious note on the issue after getting media reports. 

     

  • Government Eases Norms for Submission of Life Certificate 

    Around 65 lakh members of the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) can now submit digital their Jeevan Praman or life certificates closer home. Adding to it, the government in view of the Covid-19 has given more flexibility in norms pertaining to the submission of the crucial document & its validity. The EPFO stated it partnered with Common Service Centre (CSC) which has a huge network of more than 3.65 lakh such centres which can be used by the EPFO pensioners for submitting their proof of life.

    India reported 10,956 new COVID-19 cases and 396 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of cases to 2,975,35 and death toll to 8,498. However, 147,195 people have recovered from this deadly virus so far.

The ‘book sanitizer’ was posted on TikTok by a user named ‘asianskills’ and the video was captioned as “My people def coming from future.” It shows the book is kept in an electronic compartment. When the start button is pressed, the book goes through the sanitizing process.  

  • Indian civilian killed, three wounded by Nepal’s border guarding force 

    An Indian civilian was killed and three others injured in a sudden cease firing by Nepal’s border guarding force in Bihar’s Sitamarhi district on Friday morning. The shocking incident occurred at 8.40 am which will lead to a serious meeting between border force officials from Nepal and India.
