#Monsoon 2020: IMD Issues Heavy Rain Alert in These States; Southwest Monsoon Brings Ray of Hope for Farmers

Southwest Monsoon arrives into many places of the country carrying a ray of hope for the farmers amid the corona crisis and nationwide lockdown. As per reports, southwest monsoon enters into the remaining parts of Tamil Nadu, some more parts of west-central & north Bay of Bengal; most parts of Mizoram & Manipur and Tripura and some parts of Assam & Nagaland says the weather department in its morning bulletin.

Southwest Monsoon arrives into many places of the country carrying a ray of hope for the farmers amid the corona crisis and nationwide lockdown. As per reports, southwest monsoon enters into the remaining parts of Tamil Nadu, some more parts of west-central & north Bay of Bengal; most parts of Mizoram & Manipur and Tripura and some parts of Assam & Nagaland says the weather department in its morning bulletin. Under the influence of this Low-pressure Area, fairly widespread to widespread rainfall accompanied with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall likely over Odisha, north Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana during 10th-11th June and over central India during 11th-13th June. 

Moreover, IMD has forecast thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds, reaching 30-40 kmph speed, at isolated places in Mumbai, Thane and Palghar for Thursday.  

Further Advance of Southwest Monsoon into These Parts of the Country 

Conditions are becoming favourable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into some more parts of Central Arabian Sea, Goa; Some parts of Maharashtra; some more parts of Karnataka and Rayalaseema; some parts of Telangana and Coastal Andhra Pradesh; some more parts of Central and North Bay of Bengal and some more parts of Northeastern states during next 48 hours.  

Conditions are likely to become favourable subsequently for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into some more parts of Maharashtra; remaining parts of Karnataka, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Bay of Bengal and northeastern states, entire Sikkim and some parts of Odisha and West Bengal during subsequent 24 hours.  

Delhi-NCR witnessed Heavy Rains accompanied by Thunderstorm 

Delhi-NCR witnessed heavy rains accompanied by a thunderstorm on Wednesday. The heavy rainfall has brought relief to the residents from the hot and humid weather. 

As per yesterday’s reports, Rain/Thundershowers observed at most places over Coastal Karnataka and Kerala & Mahe; at many places over Interior Karnataka; at a few places over Himachal Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Konkan & Goa, Telangana, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Lakshadweep and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. 

Minimum & Maximum Temperature on Wednesday 

Maximum temperatures are appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at a few places over Arunachal Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim and Bihar while minimum temperatures are appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at isolated places over West Rajasthan; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at most places over Uttarakhand and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim.
