Integrated farming approach is the most important tool to achieve the goal of doubling farmer’s income by 2022 Shri Radha Mohan Singh, Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, emphasized in his address, also urged to promote conservation agriculture, PMKSY etc.
The Hon`ble Minister congratulated the award winning KVKs and urged to come forward for the betterment of farming community by promoting FPOs and linking more farmers to e-NAM, secondary agriculture and off farm income. He said due to the efforts of KVKs we are now almost self-sufficient in pulses production by producing 23 million tons of pulses in 2016-17.
Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhwat, Union Minister of State for Agricultural & Farmers Welfare, appended the KVKs for their constant support towards achieving the target goal of doubling Farmer income by 2022 through implementing the farmer centric schemes and polices of Government of India with convergence with state departments. He urged the KVKs to encourage farmers to adopt farming of high value crops and new technologies.
Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra , Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR) urged to strengthen research on post-harvest technologies and develop crop specific value chain to enhance income of farmers.
